The following are common symptoms of excess carbohydrate consumption:

Here are some things you can do to change any of those symptoms:

- Cut down on the amount of carbohydrates you eat. Carbohydrates come from plants.
- Eat moderate amounts of fat. Fat with your meals will decrease the flow of carbohydrates into the blood stream and decrease your "carbo cravings".
- Exercise regularly to decrease the amount of insulin in your blood. Carbohydrates stimulate insulin production.
- Your snacks should always have a protein such as a cheese stick, cottage cheese, or Greek yogurt. Also include walnuts or almonds with your snacks.
