Dietary Don'ts

  • Don't be on a timeline.  Changing lifelong behaviors is a gradual process and doesn't happen overnight.  Think "baby steps".
  • Don't starve yourself.  Try to eat 3 regular meals that consists of a meat and vegetables with breakfast being your "largest".  And eat 3 regular snacks in between each meal that consists of a stick of low fat cheese and a handful of walnuts or almonds.  Drink pure water throughout the day.
  • Don't try to be perfect.  You can always learn from your mistakes.
  • Don't let the occasional setbacks weaken your commitment to lose weight - expect them!  Know that you can get past them.
  • Don't go it alone.  Get an accountablility partner to help you and go through it with you.
  • Don't try to remember what you ate 3 days ago.  Keep a Weight Loss Journal.
  • Don't give up.  YOU CAN DO IT.  It doesn't matter what your age is, what your "condition" is or what your circumstances are... you can do it!  Persistence is what carries you through the difficult times.
